India extends anti-dumping duty on China flat base steel wheel

The Indian government has extended anti-dumping duty on flat base steel wheels from China by a year to Mar 25, 2019. In March 2013, the government had imposed the anti-dumping duty on flat base steel wheels from China for five years. The domestic steel makers had been lobbying the government to extend the anti-dumping duty for some time now. The anti-dumping duty on flat base steel wheels ranges from USD 512.64 to USD 613.00 a tonne

Department of Revenue of India’s Finance Ministry vide Notification No. 15/2018-Customs (ADD) dated 22nd March 2018 said that in the matter of continuation of anti-dumping duty on imports of “Flat Base Steel Wheels”, originating in or exported from China PR, imposed vide notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 3/2013- Customs (ADD), dated the 26th March, 2013, DGAD has recommended for extension of anti-dumping duty. The Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the notification “Notwithstanding anything contained in this notification, it shall remain in force up to and inclusive of the 25th March, 2019 unless revoked earlier.”
